Giving Tuesday
Over the years, we’ve used our platform to amplify the efforts of so many nonprofits and small businesses doing important work to uplift underrepresented women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and non able-bodied voices outside. Through regular donations of proceeds and product, giveaways, blog posts, collaborations, and more than 55 editions of our popular Friday Amplify newsletter, we’ve supported nearly 300 organizations in their quests to make the outdoors a more welcoming and inclusive space.
On this #GivingTuesday, we highlight 10 organizations in particular that are near and dear to the Gnara Team. We’ve personally supported them and hope you will, too!

Gnara Co-Founder & CEO Georgia Grace got introduced to Explore Austin through her pro bono capstone as a 2023 Futurist Project Fellow (and also ended up speaking on a Denver Startup Week panel next to former Explore Austin CEO Todd Hanna!). Since 2006, Explore Austin has empowered over 250 of Austin’s youth from economically disadvantaged communities to realize their full potential through long-term mentoring, leadership, and outdoor adventure.

- Gnara Product Design + Development Manager, Leigh, volunteers with CASA of Larimer County. CASA is a national nonprofit that advocates for safe, nurturing, and permanent connections to family and community, so children who have experienced abuse and neglect have the opportunity to thrive. They serve children and families through court appointed special advocacy, supervised visitations, and TBRI® training.
- Located right here in the Gunnison Crested Butte Valley that Gnara calls home, the Adaptive Sports Center is a therapeutic recreation program that operates all year with a mission to enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities through exceptional outdoor adventure activities from skiing to mountain biking. Gnara Content & Community Manager, Hailee, has co-hosted several events with this amazing org.

- Access Fund is a national advocacy organization that leads and inspires the climbing community toward sustainable access and conservation of the climbing environment. Gnara Social Media Manager Sarah covered The Access Fund’s protests to save Bears Ears.
- Full Circle’s mission is to inspire, motivate and globalize connecting to nature. In 2022, Phil Henderson led the first all-Black summit of Mt. Everest (and Gnara was proud to be able to provide pants to women on the team at Base Camp!).

- At the 2022 Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards, Gnara shared the stage with The Outdoorist Oath – an action-based commitment to planet, inclusion, and adventure the Gnara team has taken. You can also learn about their Gear Up Give Back program here:

- ASL Climbing Network is a world-wide community of ASL climbers who love rock climbing and mountaineering, allowing folks to have outdoor adventures with fellow fluent signers. Founded by our friend Sonya (@DeafClimber in instagram), ASL Climbing Network partners with CorpsThat – a non-profit dedicated to connecting the Deaf community and the outdoors through education, recreation and careers. - Wild Diversity is a nonprofit organization that aims to help create a personal connection to the outdoors for Black, Indigenous, all People of Color (BIPOC) & the LGBTQ2S+ communities, and our team has been fans of this PNW org for quite awhile now. They host outdoor adventures, provide outdoor education, and facilitate community workshops.

- Memphis Rox is the largest nonprofit rock climbing gym in the world. They’re more than just a gym – they hope to foster a community rooted in creating a culture of encouragement and empowerment both on and off the wall. Co-Founders GG and Char followed their journey to Montana via the award-winning Reel Rock film, Black Ice, at Mountainfilm in Telluride in 2021 and have loved getting to know the crew at industry events.
- Camp Founder Girls is america’s first historically black summer camp for girls from 3rd-8th grade. They’re a part of Black Outside which is on a mission to reconnect Black/African-American youth to the outdoors. The CFG overnight camp is focused on inspiring Black girl bravery, confidence, creativity, and strength.
